How to use it
- 1
Add each breadcrumb as Name | URL, one item per line.
- 2
Preserve the actual interface order; URL may be omitted only for the final item.
- 3
Copy the BreadcrumbList and verify that it matches the page's visible navigation.
What the tool can do
- Automatically assigns positions from 1 through the row count.
- Validates absolute HTTP(S) URLs and rejects a missing URL for an intermediate item.
- Omits item for the current page when the final URL is intentionally left blank.
Common use cases
- Prepare BreadcrumbList markup for a category or product page.
- Review positions and URLs before publishing a new template.
- Replace manual JSON position numbering with a deterministic list.
How it works inside
The parser accepts a pipe or tab delimiter and limits the list to twenty non-empty rows.
User input is safely serialized inside the application/ld+json script.
Questions and answers
Must the current page include an item URL?
The generator supports both patterns, but an omitted URL is allowed only for the final item. Use the pattern that matches your published markup and project requirements.
Can it generate a trail automatically from navigation?
No. Automatic extraction would require a crawler or browser layer and could incorrectly treat navigation menus as the actual breadcrumb trail.
