Result and diagnostics

—

The parser supports quoted fields, escaped quotes, CRLF/LF, and multiline quoted values. Formula-like fields are only flagged or optionally prefixed; this is not a universal security guarantee for every spreadsheet application.

Your data stays here

Text and selected files are processed in the current browser and are not sent to a server to produce the result.

What the tool can do

  • Comma, semicolon, tab, and pipe delimiters with optional auto-detection.
  • Quoted fields, escaped double quotes, CRLF/LF, and multiline quoted values.
  • Inconsistent-row, duplicate/empty-header, and formula-like-field diagnostics.
  • JSON arrays of objects or arrays; optional apostrophe prefix for formula-like CSV values.
03

Common use cases

  • Checking a CSV export before import.
  • Converting a small dataset into JSON fixtures.
  • Finding inconsistent columns and risky formula-like cells.
04

How it works inside

Input is limited to 500,000 characters, 10,000 rows, 200 columns, and 500,000 cells.

CSV validation and conversion are combined in one public workflow to avoid splitting duplicate functionality across separate tools.

Questions and answers

Are line breaks inside a field supported?

Yes, when the field is enclosed in double quotes.

What is a formula-like field?

It is a value starting with =, +, -, or @ after optional whitespace. The tool flags these values and can prefix them with an apostrophe during export.
