How to use it

  1. 1

Enter a hostname without https:// or path.

  2. 2

    Run the SSL check.

  3. 3

Review expiry, issuer, SAN, and hostname match.

02

What the tool can do

  • Checks certificate validity and days until expiry.
  • Shows issuer, subject CN, and SAN coverage.
  • Rejects URLs, IP literals, and local/private targets.
03

Common use cases

  • Check whether a site certificate is close to expiry.
  • Find hostname mismatch after CDN or reverse-proxy setup.
  • Prepare a domain for SSL-expiry monitoring.
04

How it works inside

The tool connects to a public hostname with SNI and does not accept IP literals.

The result is not a legal security assessment of the site.

Questions and answers

Does this replace SSL Labs?

No. This is a fast embedded certificate check; deep TLS audit is a separate layer.

Can I check localhost?

No. The public tool accepts only public hostnames.
