How to use it

  1. 1

    Paste a public page URL.

  2. 2

WebDiag fetches HTML and robots.txt through safe fetch.

  3. 3

Review hard blockers, warnings, and the final indexable candidate signal.

02

What the tool can do

  • Checks HTTP status, redirect count, robots.txt allow/disallow, and noindex signals.
  • Compares canonical with the final URL after redirects.
  • Does not pretend to know actual search-engine indexing: this is a technical candidate check.
03

Common use cases

  • Check a landing page before publishing.
  • Find accidental noindex after a release.
  • Check whether the page canonicalizes to another URL.
04

How it works inside

Robots.txt analysis uses the same allow/disallow precedence parser as the audit engine.

The tool returns indexable_candidate, not guaranteed search index state.

Questions and answers

Does this show whether the page is indexed?

No. It shows technical indexing blockers. Actual SERP/index presence needs a separate tool or integration.

Why is a different canonical not always a fail?

Because it may intentionally consolidate duplicates. For the current URL it is a warning: the page likely should not rank as its own canonical target.
